Guests enjoyed delicious canapés prepared by catering students working with our chef community, plus wine & delicious non alcoholic drinks. There was also sampling of food, drink gifts and party food ideas from a range of award-winning female founders.

We are chairing a panel at Restaurant & Takeaway Innovation Expo 2024 exploring some of the challenges which still face the restaurant industry following COVID. Meet award-winning Head Chef Sally Abé and Aida Khan founder of SHOLA Karachi Kitchen to discover any pivoting & opportunities which took place in their businesses and their thoughts on the future for hospitality post COVID.

Women in the Food Industry held an essential panel discussion on “Women’s Safety in Hospitality,” bringing together industry leaders and experts to explore the critical issue of safeguarding women in hospitality workplaces and public spaces. This event aimed to foster dialogue, share best practices, and develop actionable strategies to combat violence, harassment, and unsafe working conditions for women in the sector.

Women in the Food Industry brought you an insightful panel event, with a showcase of snacks, & soft drinks from black female food founders. Attendees met an inspirational panel of women who are leveraging their food businesses to celebrate the heritage of black people & also discovered some of the challenges they faced as black women in the food industry and how they overcame them.

We held an inspiring panel discussion on how to optimise your hormone health with the right diet, exercise and lifestyle habits! Women in the Food Industry, The Ethical Deli Market from Todelli &  FUTURE WOMAN brought you another sustainable and healthy breakfast club event at the social impact private member’s club The Conduit in Covent Garden! It was the place to discover how to optimise your hormonal health across different decades of your life.

Women in the Food Industry & KERB hosted a panel event about the business of street food! In the bookshop at Seven Dials Market, you could discover how to start and promote your own street food stall, the pros and cons of buying a street food truck, the challenges and benefits of moving on from selling locally to national distribution, and have learnt much, much more. Men & women were welcomed to this insightful panel, and networking event.

Women in the Food Industry hosted an event centred around the launch of Sally Abé’s debut memoir – A Woman’s Place is in the Kitchen – a chef’s dispactches from behind the pass. Sally’s book is about her journey of becoming an award-winning chef in the brutal world of restaurant kitchens. It is also a stirring manifesto which shows how we can change them for the better. On 11th June we met an inspiring panel of women working to bring hope for the culinary landscape’s future.

Women in the Food Industry & The Chefs Forum are hosting a lunch at City Restaurant, City of Bristol College prepared by leading local chefs and students. Showcasing the finest Aussie beef, thanks to Aussie Beef Mates you can enjoy a menu prepared by: Kasae Fraser (MasterChef The Professionals 2024 Finalist, Charlotte Vincent (National Chef of the Year Finalist 2024 and Great British Menu contestant) Caley Briddick (Freelance Chef) Brinda Bungaroo (Brinda’s Mauritius Delights) and  Lucy Bowden (Freelance Chef).

Women in the Food Industry are hosting an event that’s all about healthy eating in preparation for the summer! On the evening of 3rd March 2020 you’ll hear from an inspiring all female panel who will share their journeys, experiences and advice to give a great insight on what it means to be a woman in FoodTech.

When world is focusing on the contribution of women for International Women’s Day on March 8th and its theme of #EachForEqual, what can we do to help make the food & farming industry more equal for the whole year?

We are delighted to announce that Women in the Food Industry’s first Northern event will be hosted by Lancaster University. Lancaster excels at understanding and teaching entrepreneurship and is currently ranked 4th out of 50 MBA programmes across the world for entrepreneurship.

As the December elections are currently front of mind, we’re holding an event at City Hall on the evening of 16th December on the politics of food. Our panel of women will cover subjects such as food poverty, slave-free food, food waste, gender politics in professional kitchens, sustainability and more.

An evening to discuss equality within the food industry and why it is still such a hot topic even in the 21st century. We’ll discuss the moves that many restaurants and organisations are making to ensure parity with the hospitality industry and what we can all do to make working in the food industry a more balanced place in terms of gender.

We work with so many amazing women in the food industry who have sustainability at the core of their business models or have been making them as sustainable as possible and wanted to celebrate the efforts of the UN in creating Sustainable Gastronomy Day. On the evening of the 18th June 2019 you can join us for an insightful and delicious night.

At 2pm join Mecca Ibrahim FRSA, co-founder of Women in The Food Industry, to explore issues common to women working in the field of food, from professional restaurants, hospitality, food, drink, farming, food journalism and blogging, right through to food photography.

To close our celebrations of championing women in the food industry, on International Women’s Day we will be talking to some women who are trailblazers and pioneers in their field.

We welcome you to our panel discussion themed around Doing Good with Food, Sustainability and Food Waste. The panel with discuss food as a source for good, from a sustainability angle this means how we should try to use resources wisely, not damage the planet with how we package food and what we can do to eliminate food waste. We will also explore how working with food can educate us. 

We invite you to join us for a panel discussion and tasting experience ahead of International Women’s Day. A panel of leading influential women in wine, beer, whiskey & food, chaired by Andi Oliver, will discuss why drink is such an integral part of the food industry.

You will have the opportunity to ask them questions but also take part in a tasting of wine, beer & whiskey that has been expertly paired with food by plant based chef Bettina Campolucci.

Scottish Women In Food – A panel discussion We invite you to join us for a panel discussion to hear first hand from some inspiring women in food who are committed to empowering others. Hosted by Fiona Richmond, we shall be discussing the broader theme of #BalanceforBetter amongst other topics ahead of International Women’s Day.

You are invited for an afternoon of inspiring stories from a line up of empowering women in the food and drink industry. We will discuss the panellists’ amazing stories and how they were able to turn their lives around with opportunities that came their way.

We’ll also explore any particular issues our panel feel face them as women in the food industry and how they might expect or hope for those issues to change going forward.
