The Future for Vegan & Plant-Based Diets – Has The Bubble Burst? – IFE Manufacturing 2024 – Wednesday 27th March
IFE Manufacturing is the ultimate product sourcing platform for food & drink manufacturers to do business. It returns to Excel from 25-27th March. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, is delighted to be chairing a session at the Trends & Innovation Platform on 27th March called What’s the Future for Vegan & Plant Based Diets – Has the Bubble Burst? Read on to find out about the women in the plant-based food industry who are on the panel and what you will takeaway from the panel and the event.
More younger people and Gen Z are vegan than ever before, with Statista estimating that around 4% of people in younger age groups are vegan.
As a society we are eating less meat. Data from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs showed that in 2023, meat consumption had fallen to its lowest level since records began in the 70s. The cost of living crisis is leading many to choose cheaper vegetarian options, yet only 1% of the population are ethical vegans and there is talk of the vegan bubble having burst.
We speak to a panel of women at the heart of the vegan movement to discuss these issues and look at the future of vegan & plant based diets.
