Women in the Food Industry Co-Founder Mex Ibrahim Wins Hospitality Hero in The Staff Canteen Awards 2025

Now in its sixth year, The Staff Canteen Awards continue to shine a spotlight on every corner of the hospitality industry. This year the awards saw over 300 nominations across eight categories and more than 52,000 votes cast by The Staff Canteen’s members and social media followers – the biggest response yet. We are delighted that our co-founder Mex Ibrahim, made the finals and won the Hospitality Hero category.

Women In The Food Industry – Christmas Party – Recap – 8th December 2025

Women in the Food Industry held a festive evening of canapés, Prosecco, a mini food fair and networking at Corner Corner, Canada Water. It was a chance to enjoy a canapes, Prosseco.DOC, Lucky Saint alcohol free lager, catch up with others in the industry, and make new conversations. We had a great selection of female food & drink suppliers offering tastings of their products plus the opportunity to buy some creative Christmas gifts.

Keira Carolan wins Young National Chef of the Year 2026

The YNCOTY Award Winners for Young National Chef of the Year were announced on Tuesday 7th October at a lively ceremony at London’s Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square. Keira Carolan from Henrock wowed the judges and claimed the prestigious title of the Craft Guild of Chefs’ Young National Chef of the Year, after serving up three exceptional plates at the University of West London. Women In The Food Industry co-founder Mex Ibrahim went along to see who would take the prestigious awards.
