Meet Alex Price Head of Wine at Plates – The UK’s first Plant-based Michelin Star restaurant
This year Plates became the first UK plant-based restaurant to be awarded a Michelin star, after siblings Kirk and Keeley Haworth opened in July 2024 in Old Street, East London. Running a Winery During Lockdown
Elise Lane is the head winemaker and CEO of The Winery by Laneberg Wine. It’s the first winery on Tyneside and the furthest north in England. She moved to the wine world from corporate finance and set up Laneberg Wine whilst pregnant with their second son. Her winery is one of the suppliers to the Local Heroes North East a Virtual Market set up to help safeguard regional food and drink businesses in the North East of England. We spoke to her about the Covid-19 crisis, her plans for survival and hopes for the future.

Christmas Canapés & Festive Fireside Chats – Tuesday 3rd December 2024 – Event Recap
Women in the Food Industry and The Chefs Forum teamed up with one of West London’s largest catering colleges – West London College – Hammersmith & Fulham Campus, for an evening of canapés, Christmas drinks and insightful fireside chats. Guests enjoyed delicious canapés prepared by catering students working with our chef community, plus wine & delicious non alcoholic drinks. There was also sampling of food, drink gifts and party food ideas from a range of award-winning female founders.
