In our week of celebrations around International Women’s Day we held a fascinating panel where the voices of women in food tech shared their journeys and thoughts for the future. Here’s a recap of the night which was part of  The Future of Food Meetup Series from Forward Fooding.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Women in the Food Industry and Forward Fooding are bringing you a new panel talk, Women in FoodTech. On the evening of 3rd March 2020 you’ll hear from an inspiring all female panel who will share their journeys, experiences and advice to give a great insight on what it means to be a woman in FoodTech.

The Guild of Food Writers announced the winners for its annual Awards on 12th June 2024 at a glittering ceremony. One of the longest running awards in food writing and broadcasting the winners featured emerging talents such as Felicity Souter and Molly Codyre. Also some of the industry’s best-known female food writers and broadcasters, including Bee Wilson and Prue Leith gained great recognition for their achievements. Our co-founder Mecca Ibrahim is a member of The Guild of Food Writers and attended the ceremony at the Royal Institution in Mayfair. She highlights the women who took home awards  for 2024.

The In Conversation With… podcast series by The Food People ( a global trends & ideas agency) features people, businesses, brands and entrepreneurs from across the food & drink world – finding out more about why they do what they do, their purpose, how they see the future and how, in their way, they are championing change and shifting the future of food & drink. Our co-founder Mecca Ibrahim (Mex) was delighted to feature this month to speak to Charles Banks about addressing equality within the industry and how our organisation trailblazes women in food.

Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, is delighted to be chairing a session in the Future Food Stage on 27th March called Why Women-Led Food Businesses Work – The Future of Food is Female.

Great British Menu (GBM) returned to our screens on January 23rd for season 19. The BBC2 show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we are continuing our series of interviews with the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final banquet. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, interviewed Louisa Ellis who runs her own private dining and events business Chef Louisa Ellis.
