Menopause Awareness Month 2026 : Nourish Through Menopause – Recap
For World Menopause Awareness Month 2026, Women in the Food Industry held an interactive afternoon at the University of Greenwich – recognised as the first university in England to achieve Menopause Friendly Employer accreditation – to explore the role of nutrition in menopause and perimenopause. We brought together leading nutritional experts, women’s health advocates and innovative food and drink brands.
Whether you’re navigating menopause yourself, supporting others, working in nutrition and wellbeing, or developing products for the women’s health market, this event offered an opportunity to learn, share experiences and make valuable connections.
Meet the World Menopause Awareness Month Panel
Our panel brought together a wealth of experience from clinical nutrition, nutritional education, food innovation and academia. We held an open, engaging conversation about the relationship between nutrition, hormones, mood and wellbeing during perimenopause and menopause.
- Christine Bailey MSc, BSc (Nutrition), PgDip IOPN – Award-winning Registered Nutritionist, author of The Personalised Nutrition Guide to Menopause, breathwork practitioner and Head of Nutrition Science & Education at Metagenics UK & Ireland.
- Nicola Moore – Highly respected nutritional therapist, educator and Fellow of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, with over 20 years’ experience in nutrition, mental wellbeing and behaviour change.
- Katie Ward – Managing Director of microbz, a family run business based in Wiltshire that makes probiotics from organic soil. She is an advocate for a probiotic life and an expert for anyone looking to use probiotics in place of the chemicals and antibacterial products.
- Lynette Lisk – Project Manager at the University of Greenwich, leading the Generator’s #GreHacks Knowledge Exchange Project, with a passion for education, enterprise, empowerment and strategic partnerships.
Moderated by Mex Ibrahim, Co-Founder of Women in the Food Industry, our fishbowl-style discussion encouraged audience participation, questions and the sharing of perspectives, creating an opportunity to explore the topics that matter most to you.
From mood, energy and gut health to eating behaviours, changing nutritional needs and the future of women’s wellness, attendees gained practical insights and took part in thought-provoking conversations.
Networking, Product Showcase & Tasting
Both before and after the panel the attendees met a selection of innovative food and drink producers developing products for perimenopause, menopause and women’s wellness.
They enjoyed samples, met the people behind the brands and found out more about the ideas and innovation shaping the future of women’s nutrition. Products included:

Thanks to Christine Bailey and Metagenics UK & Ireland everyone took home a goody bag with a selection of supplements, support for joints and muscles and a leaflet of easy recipes to help boost daily fibre intake, support gut health and deliver balanced nutrition for everyday wellbeing.
It was an afternoon of practical advice, professional inspiration, new business connections and a welcoming space to explore menopause, perimenopause and connect over the power of nutrition.
