Who were our expert Panel: Join award-winning Registered Performance Nutritionist (BANT), Functional Nutrition Practitioner, and Breathwork Coach Christine Bailey, certified Nutritionist Christianna, alongside Helen Snook, co-founder of Indi Supplements, and Maria Miracle, founder of HI Foods. Together, they shared their personal journeys, practical nutrition tips, and lifestyle hacks that highlight how food, supplements, and daily habits can support women through perimenopause and menopause.
Christine Bailey is an award-winning Registered Performance Nutritionist, Functional Nutrition Practitioner, and Chef with over 20 years of experience across the catering, nutrition, fitness, and wellbeing industries. With advanced training from the Institute of Functional Medicine and the Institute of Performance Nutrition, she brings science-led, personalised nutrition to the catering sector and her clinical work. Christine also holds a degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master’s in Ecological Sciences, equipping her with a unique ability to integrate nutrition with sustainability and holistic food system strategies. She integrates this expertise to develop sustainable, high-impact wellbeing and nutrition programmes for UK and international clients.
Her soon to be launched book The Personalized Nutrition Guide to Menopause: Reset, Renew and Rebalance the Body and Mind is based on the latest scientific research into nutrition, and takes a functional medicine approach. This book is a must-have for both nutritionists and their clients. This evidence-based, and accessible guide enables the reader to create a personalized health plan for optimal well-being before, during, and after menopause.
Christianna is a women’s health nutritionist with expertise in perimenopause and menopause. She is dedicated to helping women feel healthy, happy and confident through their food and lifestyle choices. Her approach is to use evidence based nutrition science, to educate her clients, so they can apply these principles in a way that works for them. She advocates for women’s health and wants to be a source of accurate, helpful information for her clients and social media following.
When she isn’t working with clients in her clinic, she does corporate and brand work; delivering webinars, creating content and advising on health policy. She also loves to cook and develop recipes that are all about making nutrition easy, delicious and family friendly. As a perimenopausal woman herself, she is passionate about showing women that age doesn’t define health and that every woman can feel their best.
Maria Miracle is the founder of HI Foods. She is researching the connection between gut and nutrition and its impact on female hormonal and reproductive health, especially conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, at Oxford University. After years of working in female education, she launched HI Foods, a first-of-is-kind company connecting food and nutrition to reproductive health.
HI Foods launched with its artisanal-grade Honey Nut Butter, with ingredients specifically selected for different phases and seasons of the body. Each blend of nut butter offers a boost of nutritional power in a decadent spoonful, made with whole-food ingredients and no additives or emulsifiers.
Helen Snook founded INDI in 2020 with her husband Chris. Disillusioned by their experience with supplements, they worked with a team of experts to develop a ‘smart but simple’ range focused on filling common nutrition gaps.
Fast forward 4+ years, INDI’s mission remains: to bring better health to more people through the healing power of nature. Their plant-based products – 3 whole food supplements, a high-fibre snack bar and powerful sleep tincture – have won countless awards and are widely endorsed by leading nutritionists (including their Head of Nutrition Dr Linia Patel). INDI uses its growing platform to educate on what it means to be healthy, and how supplements should be used to support and not replace a balanced diet at all life’s stages and ages.
Their female centric audience actively shares their experiences with perimenopause and menopause. In turn, INDI’s products and their science-backed ingredients address many of the daily challenges these women face, supporting body, mind and sleep.
Mex Ibrahim is passionate about gender equality, co-founding Women in the Food Industry in 2019. The organization supports women across the food sector, advocating for equality, inclusion, and leadership opportunities, and empowering women to achieve their career goals in the industry. It became a non-profit social enterprise in 2023.
With expertise in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and ethical eating, Mex is a trustee of the charity School Food Matters, a member of the Guild of Food Writers, sits on the advisory board of New Food Magazine, is an associate of the Royal Society of Public Health and was recently awarded Best DEI Champion in the Specialty & Fine Food Fair Awards. Mex also runs her own successful freelance business in social media, content creation, and digital strategy.
The panel discussed the stigma or silence around menopause. They looked at how we could shift the narrative so that menopause is seen as a stage of empowerment and renewal rather than decline.
They also explored how nutritional needs change during perimenopause and menopause — and what are some key foods or nutrients women should prioritise.
Christine Bailey integrates breathwork and mindset into her advice on menopause and explored how stress and breathing impact hormones and metabolism. We learnt what simple practices women could use daily.
Christianna highlighted how many women feel overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice online. She shared some of the myths about food and menopause that needed to be debunked. She also felt it was time that GPs treated menopause as something that was not “one size fits all” when it came to treatment.
Helen Snook also spoke about the confliction and confusion in the supplement landscape can be confusing. At Indi Supplements she discussed how transparency and education were used so that women could make confident and informed choices.
Maria Miracle’s business is very purpose-driven. Her almond honey blends HI Foods are made specifically to support Perimenopause & Menopause phase. She shared what inspired her to focus on women’s health and menopause and also provided inspiration to other women who wanted to build brands that blend heart, science, and impact.
In addition to the panel attendees were able to sample delicious, planet-friendly nibbles and drinks and put their burning questions to the producers.
They sampled Patkai Tea that not only tastes amazing but also offers multiple health benefits. Attendees also sampled Luxwells, a botanical infused water beverage range created to encourage better hydration.
All in all it was an inspiring event exploring how food, nutrition, and community can support women before, during, and after menopause – and how we can build a culture that celebrates and empowers women at every stage of life.
We would like to thank our brilliant panellists for their honesty, insight, and inspiration — and to all who came along to join this conversation.
Menopause is not the end of vitality — it’s a new beginning of wisdom, strength, and self-connection. Let’s continue to nourish and flourish, together.
