We are delighted to announce that Women in the Food Industry’s first Northern event will be hosted by Lancaster University. Lancaster excels at understanding and teaching entrepreneurship and is currently ranked 4th out of 50 MBA programmes across the world for entrepreneurship.

Spill the Beans is an entrepreneurial, inspirational and motivational networking event aimed at food and drinks start-ups and entrepreneurs from ethnic minority communities. IFE- International Food & Drink Event, is the UK’s largest and most successful event for product sourcing for buyers from across the retail, foodservice, hospitality, wholesale, distribution, import and export sectors. It returns to Excel from 25-27th March. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, is delighted to be chairing a session in the Future Food Stage on 27th March called Why Women-Led Food Businesses Work – The Future of Food is Female.

The SquareMeal Female Chef of the Year award was launched in 2018 to celebrate the huge contribution female chefs are making to the UK restaurant industry.  On 21st October 2019 Skye Gyngell chef-patron of Spring and culinary director of Heckfield Place became the second winner of the title. Skye was presented with her award at a Champagne reception at The Goring in Belgravia for the shortlisted chefs.
