Women in MasterChef The Professionals 2021
Here are the women chefs you’ll be seeing more of on BBC One from 8th November 2021 until Christmas as MasterChef The Professionals returns to our screens for its 14th series.
They are amongst the 32 chefs who will be competing for the title. Where the chefs work themselves is only cryptically revealed by the BBC & the chefs are only known by their first names! However we happen to know that Lauren (pictured above top right and below) will be on the opening episode at 19.35pm and we wish her the very best of luck.
Long established as one of the country’s premier cooking competitions MasterChef: The Professionals has seen a number of women achieve great success and visibility.
Previous winners include Claire Lara and Keri Moss and in recent years television audiences have been dazzled by the talent and drive of finalists Louisa Ellis, Olivia Burt, Claire Hutchings, Elly Wentworth, Michelle Trusselle and Philli Armitage-Mattin.
MasterChef: The Professionals moved to BBC One last year after 12 series on BBC Two. It was BBC Two’s highest-rating cookery show for the past three years. MasterChef was the 3rd most watched programme of 2020 on iPlayer, with 22.2m requests.
Also appearing in this year’s series is University College Birmingham student Yasmine. She made her announcement on Instagram. You can follow her at @chef_yasmineceliene.
In addition to Yasmine and Lauren, coming up are Mathilde, Elena, Kirsty and Gina. We wish all the best of luck as the first weeks see them compete to get to the weekly quarter finals, semis and finals in the week leading up to Christmas.
On returning to the series, judge Monica Galetti said: “The hospitality industry has faced such unprecedented challenges over the past 18 months. Britain’s chefs have been busting to get back behind the stove and I cannot wait for them to get cooking with passion and pride.”
In the meantime catch our interview with Olivia Burt (pictured above and below) who reached the finals in 2019 about her experience of being on the show.
