Women in the Food Industry Co-Founder Mex Ibrahim Wins Woman of the Year in debut Women In Food & Drink Awards 2026

The winners of the brand new Women In Food Drink Awards were announced at a glittering awards ceremony held at London Hilton Bankside on 6th May 2026. They set out to celebrate excellence and amplify the visibility of women making a difference at every stage of the food and drink supply chain. The awards saw over 1,800 nominations and  290 people and organisations made the shortlist with 42 expert judges having the hard task of selecting 38 winners! We are delighted that our co-founder Mex Ibrahim,  won the Woman of the Year – Sales and Communication category.

The Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards shortlist is one of the most eagerly awaited dates in the food writing & broadcasting calendar.  For 14 years, the awards have championed those who help others to enjoy, explore, experiment, and discover more about food and drink, through their writing, photography, and commentary.  It’s an area that women do very well in and this year is no exception discover those who made it to the shortlist.

Claire Aho Award for Women Photographers: Meet the UK Shortlist for 2026 – World Food Photography Awards

The shortlist for the Claire Aho Award for Women Photographers 2026 was announced on 2nd April 2026. Part of the global World Food Photography Awards, this award aims to encourage and celebrate women photographers.  For the second year Women In The Food Industry were delighted to be on the judging advisory panel. We are particular fans of the Claire Aho Award and are delighted to share the photos by UK photographers shortlisted in this category.

Women in the Food Industry Co-Founder Mex Ibrahim Wins Hospitality Hero in The Staff Canteen Awards 2025

Now in its sixth year, The Staff Canteen Awards continue to shine a spotlight on every corner of the hospitality industry. This year the awards saw over 300 nominations across eight categories and more than 52,000 votes cast by The Staff Canteen’s members and social media followers – the biggest response yet. We are delighted that our co-founder Mex Ibrahim, made the finals and won the Hospitality Hero category.

YNCOTY Award Winners – Young National Chef of the Year 2024 – 2nd & 3rd Place Taken by Two Women

The Young National Chef of the Year (YNCOTY) awards were announced on Tuesday 8th October at a lively ceremony at London’s Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square. Taking the runner-up spot was Rosie Welch from L’Enclume with Keira Carolan from Simon Rogan’s Henrock taking the third place spot. The  VIP Awards evening took place in front of some of the industry’s biggest names.

Craft Guild of Chefs Graduate Awards 2024 – Meet the Women Achievers

The Craft Guild of Chefs Graduate Awards 2024 concluded on 9th August with a ceremony at Fortnum & Mason.  Nine talented young chefs were celebrated for reaching and important milestone in their careers. Following a challenging five-hour Graduate Awards final exam at the University of West London, those chefs who achieved the all-important pass mark. Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim celebrated with the women who reached the finals and the examiners involved.
