Series Editor, Antonia Lloyd, tells us about filming GBM during the pandemic
When the national lockdown in March 2020 hit, the hospitality industry ground to a halt as did the TV and film industry. A mini crisis ensued as lost filming contracts affected the majority of freelancers that make up an estimated 50% of the TV and film industry. The British Library are in the 4th year of their highly popular talks on food, all inspired by their extensive food-related collections. Many of the events feature prominent women in the food industry. The events start on 13th April and run until late May 2021. We highlight some of our favourites.

Continuing our series, our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, interviewed Kim Ratcharoen Senior Sous Chef at 3 Michelin-starred Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London. Originally from Suratthani, Thailand Kim is representing London and the South East.

Great Women on Great British Menu 2021
We are delighted that Great British Menu (GBM) is returning to our screens on 24th March 2021 for series 16. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we were pleased to see women making up almost a third of the chefs from across Britain who will be competing to serve their dish at the final banquet.
