Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards 2025 Winners Announced

The Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards are one of the most eagerly awaited events in the food writing & broadcasting calendar.  The award winners for 2025 were announced on 1st May 2025 and recognised excellence in food and drink writing, broadcasting and photography. For thirteen years, the awards have championed those who help others to enjoy, explore, experiment, and discover more about food and drink, through their writing, photography, and commentary.  Once again women proved how well they shine in food and drink writing and broadcasting.

The Culinary Wonder of Eastern Europe – Three Cookbook reviews by Antonia Lloyd to Whet your Appetite

The cuisine of Eastern Europe is, increasingly, receiving the recognition it deserves thanks to passionate cooks and authors eager to share their ancestry, culinary traditions and love for this biodiverse landscape. Several cookbooks published this spring – Alissa Timoshkina’s Kapusta, Irina Georgescu’s Danube, and Caroline Eden’s Green Mountains out this April – have caught the eye of our Ambassador of Women In the Food Industry and Writer, Antonia Lloyd, because they shine a light on its diverse peoples, their stories and the eclectic heritage of their food.

Great Women on Great British Menu 2025

We are delighted that Great British Menu (GBM) is returning to our screens on 28 January 2025 for series 20 – its 20th anniversary year. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. It will air weekly, Tuesdays to Thursdays, 8pm on BBC Two for eight weeks. The theme for 2025 will be Great Britons. Women in the Food Industry will be interviewing all of the female chefs competing. Congratulations to Sally Abé who made the starter and to Amber Francis who made the dessert and was also crowned Champion of Champions!
