In the bookshop at Seven Dials Market, you could discover how to start and promote your own street food stall, the pros and cons of buying a street food truck, the challenges and benefits of moving on from selling locally to national distribution, and have learnt much, much more. Men & women were welcomed to this insightful panel, and networking event.

The British Library Food Season 2024 Events featuring Women In The Food Industry

The British Library Food Season are in the 6th year of their highly popular talks on food, all inspired by their extensive food-related collections.  Many of the events feature prominent women in the food industry. The events started in  April and run until early June 2024. We highlight some of our favourites of over “the BIG Weekend” – a two-day celebration of food through words, sounds, cultures, ideas and tastings running 25th and 26th May 2024.

Queena Wong, founder of Curious Vines, the supportive community that connects women in wine, has commented on the article that appeared in The Times T2 on, March 14th 2024.  With a headline: Is the wine industry about to have its own MeToo moment? journalist Kate Spicer shared experiences of women who work in the wine trade. Queena Wong had conducted a recent survey of women who work in the wine trade, where one in three described experiencing harassment.

Our co-founder Mecca Ibrahim spoke to Jane Baxter at the tail end of 2023 before she made an appearance on Saturday Kitchen to cook a recipe from the book.
