Agak Agak – Everyday Recipes from Singapore – is the second cookbook by Shu Han Lee. Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim knew Shu from the times when Mex commissioned recipes for Great British Chefs, so it was with great pleasure to attend a launch of Shu’s book which included a demo of recipes at, so it was with great pleasure to attend a launch of Shu’s book which included a demo of recipes at Divertimenti cookery school.

The Guild of Food Writers announced the winners for its annual Awards on 12th June 2024 at a glittering ceremony. One of the longest running awards in food writing and broadcasting the winners featured emerging talents such as Felicity Souter and Molly Codyre. Also some of the industry’s best-known female food writers and broadcasters, including Bee Wilson and Prue Leith gained great recognition for their achievements. Our co-founder Mecca Ibrahim is a member of The Guild of Food Writers and attended the ceremony at the Royal Institution in Mayfair. She highlights the women who took home awards  for 2024.

An impressive all-female panel of marketers, chefs, cook book writers and leaders discuss what social media strategies have proven successful for their hospitality, food and drink brands.

Plan Zheroes are a surplus food charity connecting businesses with surplus food to nearby charities who can use it. This Autumn, Plan Zheroes will be making a new cookbook and they are inviting all who care about food-surplus to join them in this celebration. We spoke to one of their Ambassadors, Kirsten Frederickson, about the project.

Since 2014 Luminary Bakery has offered courses, work experience and paid employment within their cafes in London, empowering women to build their careers. Now the organisation has published its first cookery book – Rising Hope. A collection of over 70 delicious recipes each accompanied with heartwarming, joyful and inspiring story. The UK’s biggest food book, writing and media awards took place on 27 June 2019 as the Guild of Food Writers Awards Ceremony and Party celebrated all that was great in food writing and media. Guild president Orlando Murrin and vice-president Felicity Cloake were the presenters and our co-founder Mecca Ibrahim (who has recently become a member of The Guild) was delighted to attend. Women in the Food Industry brought you an insightful panel event, with a showcase of snacks, & soft drinks from black female food founders. Attendees met an inspirational panel of women who are leveraging their food businesses to celebrate the heritage of black people & also discovered some of the challenges they faced as black women in the food industry and how they overcame them.

We welcome you to our panel discussion themed around Doing Good with Food, Sustainability and Food Waste. The panel with discuss food as a source for good, from a sustainability angle this means how we should try to use resources wisely, not damage the planet with how we package food and what we can do to eliminate food waste. We will also explore how working with food can educate us. 

Dip In Brilliant is restaurateur Dipna Anand’s second cookbook which has recently been added to the digital cookbook subscription service ckbk. Women In The Food Industry co-founder Mex Ibrahim spoke to Dipna  about her inspiration for the recipes and the culinary adventures you will find in the book.  Dip In Brilliant showcases not only delicious Punjabi delights, but also some of Dipna’s quirky recipe creations and some of her mum’s magical recipes too.

Quick and Easy Vietnamese: Everyday Vietnamese Recipes for The Home Cook  is the latest book from multi-talented writer, cook, food and prop stylist, and photographer Uyen Luu. When Uyen is not writing or taking photographs for a number of best-selling cookbooks she runs supperclubs and Vietnamese cooking classes in her London home.  Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim, reviews Quick and Easy Vietnamese after Uyen’s joyous launch party on 9th August.
