IFE- International Food & Drink Event, is the UK’s largest and most successful event for product sourcing for buyers from across the retail, foodservice, hospitality, wholesale, distribution, import and export sectors. It returns to Excel from 25-27th March. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, is delighted to be chairing a session in the Future Food Stage on 27th March called Why Women-Led Food Businesses Work – The Future of Food is Female.

Speciality & Fine Food Fair, the UK’s leading showcase of artisanal food and drink, is returning from the 11th – 12th of September at Olympia, London. It’s a free industry event, designed as a food festival. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, is delighted to be chairing a session in the Trends Theatre on 11th September called Representing Diverse Food Cultures in Retail. At Women in the Food Industry we are interviewing the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final banquet. To continue our series, our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, interviewed Liz Cottam chef owner of HOME on the banks of Leeds’ river Aire.

Great British Menu (GBM) returned to our screens in March for season 15. The show on BBC2 puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. At Women in the Food Industry we are continuing our series of interviews the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final banquet. Working in partnership with Marketing Lancashire, and generously hosted by Lancaster University and Lancaster University’s Conference & Events our very first Northern event for Women in the Food Industry was a fantastic success. Here’s a recap of what took place.

In the seventh of our series of Female Food Founders interviews we look the world of tea. Although tea is one of the world’s most popular beverages, it tends not to be treated with the same reverence we see given to coffee.  We met Kim Havelaar founder of Roqberry Tea who is on a mission to blend the rules when it comes to tea.  Our tea loving co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, chatted with Kim about about the world of tea, how to become a tea sommelier and how to make a product stand out in a crowded market.

In the sixth of our series of Female Food Founders interviews we turn once again to ice cream. But here is a very adult ice cream made in partnership with award winning spirit and liqueur producers.  We met Jane Woodhead co-founder of Speakeasy Ice Cream. Each flavour is made with no artificial additives and features a single alcohol as its centrepiece.  Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, chatted with Jane about about the luxury ice cream market, developing a product for both chefs and consumers and why her logo is a blindfolded tiger.

In the fourth of our series of Female Food Founders interviews we turn to ice cream, as summer is finally here. Also with the Allergy and Free From Show taking place in London, we met Cecily Mills founder of Coconuts Organic, dairy free ice cream.  Cecily’s ice cream secured two investment offers from Dragon’s Den. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, chatted with Cecily about about dairy-free, Dragons and driving sales in Tesco.

For the first time ever, on Saturday 29th June, Le Cordon Bleu London will throw open its doors for a very exciting Summer Food & Drink Festival. The world famous cookery school will host a fabulous array of Chef demos including Asma Khan; Olivia Burt and Anna Hansen, to name just a few.
