Women in the Food Industry’s first Northern event hailed as a huge success!

Working in partnership with Marketing Lancashire, and generously hosted by Lancaster University and Lancaster University’s Conference & Events our very first Northern event for Women in the Food Industry was a fantastic success. Here’s a recap of what took place.

The British Library Food Season 2019 Events featuring Women In The Food Industry

The British Library are running another season of last year’s highly popular talks, workshops and courses on food, all inspired by their extensive food-related collections.  Many of the events, which run until 30th May 2019 feature prominent women in the food industry. Meet the Women Young National Chef of the Year Finalists for 2024

There are two female chefs competing in Young National Chef of the Year (YNCOTY) finals and both are new to The Craft Guild of Chefs’ competition. Keira Carolan and Rosie Welch both work in restaurants by Simon Rogan in the Lake District.  They were part of twelve talented young chefs who received a special delivery on July 31st 2024. The exclusive YNCOTY chef’s jacket from Continental Chef Supplies (CCS) confirmed the chefs had done enough to impress the judges and earn one of the much sought-after spots in the final which takes place on Tuesday 8th October.

Spotlight on Women Head Chefs and Restaurateurs in National Restaurant Awards 2022

Hundreds of votes from chefs, food writers, editors, top industry suppliers and critics were counted to reveal the country’s best restaurants. This year’s Estrella Damm List of Top 100 Restaurants shows a number of inspiring women running award-winning restaurants including the restaurant which took the top slot Ynyshir run by Amelia Eiríksson and her head chef partner, Gareth Ward.

For the last three years CODE, the leading hospitality magazine and website. have published a list that honours women who “genuinely affect change in the hospitality industry.” We are delighted that so many supporters of Women In the Food Industry (WiFi) feature in 2020’s list of amazing women.

Camilla Ainsworth

Camilla was the youngest finalist in the history of the BBC Apprentice series, narrowly missing out in the final. Whilst Lord Sugar didn’t choose her, the CEO of Holland & Barrett was suitably impressed with her vegan nut milk M+LKPLUS and she went ahead to launch the dairy alternative into 645 of their stores where both flavours continue to sell out.
