We are delighted that Great British Menu (GBM) is returning to our screens on 1st February 2022 for series 17. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. This year GBM has had its most significant re-vamp with a brand new panel of judges including food entrepreneur, Nisha Katona.

Expect the unexpected.  If you’re a fan of food and food photography, you may be excited to hear there is a new exhibition at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, exploring the rich history of food photography.  Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, went along to Feast for The Eyes, with a number of expectations. In the heart of London’s vibrant food scene, a culinary revolution quietly simmers, led by the indomitable Kim Innes and her ground-breaking venture, Humble Crumble.  From modest inception as a Primrose Hill farmers’ market stall to its current status as the world’s first crumble bakery, Humble Crumble has baked itself into the fabric of the City’s culinary culture, serving over half a million crumbles in just three years.  We delve deeper into how its visionary founder transformed a quintessentially British dessert from everyday edible to gastronomic sensation, whilst cooking up a multimillion-pound business with an ever-expanding following.  

The new Alcohol Tax came into force on 1st August 2023. We spoke to women in the drinks industry about the tax and what it means for their businesses, consumers and the industry as a whole.

Our friend and long time supporter, Sabrina Gidda’s debut coookbook Modern South Asian Kitchen was published by Quadrille Books in March 2023.

In the book, we see the merging of Sabrina’s professional career in modern European kitchens unite with her Punjabi heritage, culminating in 90 unique and stunning recipes that are comforting, playful and big on flavour.  She offers snacks and small plates for entertaining, quick and light dishes for midweek meals and stunning recipes for feasting with friends – encouraging readers to not be fearful of their spice cupboards. In her words, she is “creating new traditions as well as honouring old”.

As Refugee Week looms (19th-25th June 2023) Ambassador of Women In the Food Industry, Antonia Lloyd, takes us behind the scenes at award-winning charity and social enterprise Migrateful that supports asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in their journey to integration through cookery classes.

At Women in the Food Industry we were pleased to see women making up almost a third of the chefs from across Britain who will be competing to serve their dish at the final banquet.
