At Women in the Food Industry we are interviewing the strong female line-up of chefs from across Britain competing to serve their dish at the final Great British Menu banquet. For the first time in Great British Menu’s history there is an all female line up of chefs. Dip In Brilliant is restaurateur Dipna Anand’s second cookbook which has recently been added to the digital cookbook subscription service ckbk. Women In The Food Industry co-founder Mex Ibrahim spoke to Dipna  about her inspiration for the recipes and the culinary adventures you will find in the book.  Dip In Brilliant showcases not only delicious Punjabi delights, but also some of Dipna’s quirky recipe creations and some of her mum’s magical recipes too.

Quick and Easy Vietnamese: Everyday Vietnamese Recipes for The Home Cook  is the latest book from multi-talented writer, cook, food and prop stylist, and photographer Uyen Luu. When Uyen is not writing or taking photographs for a number of best-selling cookbooks she runs supperclubs and Vietnamese cooking classes in her London home.  Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim, reviews Quick and Easy Vietnamese after Uyen’s joyous launch party on 9th August.

You can tell a lot about a person by the cookbooks they own.  Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim discovered through Bee Wilson, that Esquire magazine had published in-depth look at Vice President Kamala Harris’s cookbooks. Bee noted that British food writer Diana Henry’s book From The Oven to the Table was not only included amongst the pile of cookbooks, but that Diana Henry had also given her thoughts on the books. Mex took a look at the women food writers who feature in Kamala’s kitchen.

Agak Agak – Everyday Recipes from Singapore – is the second cookbook by Shu Han Lee. Our co-founder Mex Ibrahim knew Shu from the times when Mex commissioned recipes for Great British Chefs, so it was with great pleasure to attend a launch of Shu’s book which included a demo of recipes at, so it was with great pleasure to attend a launch of Shu’s book which included a demo of recipes at Divertimenti cookery school.

Elizabeth David’s first cookery book, A Book of Mediterranean Food, was published almost 75 years ago in 1950 and it changed British eating habits forever. Our Ambassador of Women In the Food Industry and Writer, Antonia Lloyd, reviews the 2024 hardback reissue.

The Asian Pantry – is the much anticipated second cookbook by Dominique Woolf. Dominique is the winner of Channel 4’s The Great Cookbook Challenge by Jamie Oliver and also creator of the award-winning The Woolf’s Kitchen chilli oils, sauces and pastes.  She was one of the panellists at our Summer Healthy Eating event, where we were lucky enough to be some of the first people to see her book before its publication. A Woman’s Place Is In The Kitchen – the long-awaited memoir of British culinary star Sally Abé is out this June and it’s a searingly honest account of a young cook’s ascent to the top of the restaurant industry. Recipes for a Better Menopause is a new book from award-winning chef, Jane Baxter working together with nutrition expert Dr Federica Amati, who is head nutritionist at ZOE.  Taking scientific research and combining with super-tasty, nourishing recipes, the two women have produced a book that will help to harness the power of food to optimise your health.
