We are enormously proud and humbled to have Irini Tzortzoglou 2019 Masterchef Champion as one of our Ambassadors. She is a very busy woman but she took the time to share with us some of our latest news.

2019 was the first all female finale of MasterChef and our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, was delighted to interview champion Irini Tzortzoglou about her experience on the show.  She caught up with Irini not long after she had returned to her home in  Cumbria after a working holiday to Crete, the place of her birth, to talk about what life was like after winning.

Here are the women chefs you’ll be seeing more of on BBC One from 8th November 2021 until Christmas as MasterChef The Professionals returns to our screens for its 14th series.

We had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with Olivia Burt, Sous Chef at Claridge’s, who is competing in MasterChef The Professionals on BBC2.  Olivia was also the only female chef to make the finals of the Roux Scholarship.  Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, recently spoke to Olivia about her experience on MasterChef The Professionals and what it’s like cooking on a national TV show.

The SquareMeal Female Chef of the Year award was launched in 2018 to celebrate the huge contribution female chefs are making to the UK restaurant industry.  On 21st October 2019 Skye Gyngell chef-patron of Spring and culinary director of Heckfield Place became the second winner of the title. Skye was presented with her award at a Champagne reception at The Goring in Belgravia for the shortlisted chefs.

We had the wonderful opportunity to catch up with Head Chef, Ruth Hansom, of Pomona’s on Hereford Road in Notting Hill who  joined the line up of chefs who competed in the Bocuse d’Or National Selection on 30th September at The Restaurant Show. The Bocuse d’Or,  is the world’s largest and most prestigious cooking contest and Ruth was the only female chef to make the finals to represent the UK. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, spoke to Ruth about the competition behind the scenes at London’s busy Olympia Exhibition Centre in our podcast and interview.

Feast your eyes on a veritable Aladdin’s Cave for pie lovers and one of most amazing Private Dining Rooms we have ever had the pleasure of being in. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, visited The Pie Room at Holborn Dining Room at the 5 Star Rosewood London Hotel to chat to Sous Chef, Nokx Majozi about her  inspirations, how professional kitchens are changing for the better changed since she has been working in London and what it’s like working with Executive Chef Calum Franklin.

Scripts for Supper is the brain-child of former MasterChef semi-finalist Annie McKenzie. It’s an immersive dining experience, adapting classic stories, served with a menu inspired by the story. Fellow MasterChef finalist Juanita Hennessey is now Head Chef and designed a seasonal menu to match the much loved The Wind in The Willows. Our co-founder, Mecca Ibrahim, went along to a preview at Stepney City Farm.

In a historic all-female finale MasterChef Final, one of the first things the champion did on hearing of her win was offer to share the trophy with the two runners-up.
