Modern South Asian Kitchen: Recipes and Stories Celebrating Culture and Community by Sabrina Gidda – Debut Cookbook

Our friend and long time supporter, Sabrina Gidda’s debut coookbook Modern South Asian Kitchen was published by Quadrille Books in March 2023.

In the book, we see the merging of Sabrina’s professional career in modern European kitchens unite with her Punjabi heritage, culminating in 90 unique and stunning recipes that are comforting, playful and big on flavour.  She offers snacks and small plates for entertaining, quick and light dishes for midweek meals and stunning recipes for feasting with friends – encouraging readers to not be fearful of their spice cupboards. In her words, she is “creating new traditions as well as honouring old”.

Nisha Katona joins all new judging panel of Great British Menu 2022

We are delighted that Great British Menu (GBM) is returning to our screens on 1st February 2022 for series 17. The BBC Two show puts the nation’s most talented chefs to the test. This year GBM has had its most significant re-vamp with a brand new panel of judges including food entrepreneur, Nisha Katona.

Interview with Natalie Campbell CEO of Belu Water

Natalie Campbell is an award-winning social entrepreneur and co-founder of A Very Good Company (AVGC), a global social innovation agency. On 1st March she took over the role of CEO at Belu Water, who give 100% of their profits to the charity WaterAid to help transform lives worldwide with clean water. At Women in the Food Industry we were pleased to see women making up a quarter of the chefs from across Britain who will be competing to serve their dish at the final banquet.  This year GBM has been re-vamped again with more dishes, more chefs and a new presenter.

Great Women on Great British Menu 2019

We interviewed all of the amazing women about appearing on Great British Menu –  Sabrina Gidda of Allbright, Emily Scott of St Tudy Inn, Lorna McNee of Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, Gleneagles,  Samira Effa formerly of The Alimentum and Cindy Challoner formerly of The Classroom. They all performed amazingly and did their regions proud. Good luck to Lorna McNee who made it through to finals week. Business Guardian report on Women in The Food Industry for International Women’s Day

Just in time for International Women’s Day the  Lancaster Guardian reported on Better with Jam’s news and the partnership of our co-founders Janie Ash and Mecca Ibrahim . “A series of new events will bring together female food and drink leaders and entrepreneurs to discuss the issues impacting women working in food related careers in the United Kingdom” wrote Nick Lakin.
